<p>Phillip &ldquo;Phil&rdquo; Wayne Bardin, longtime Mexia businessman, passed away September 11, 2021 in the Temple VA Hospital at the age of 76.&nbsp; Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 24, 2021 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating.</p> <p>Phil was born October 3, 1944 in Brinkley, Arkansas to Elton Eli and Geneva Elizabeth (Ramsey) Bardin.&nbsp; He worked on a delivery route for Standard Coffee and Hostess Bakery, prior to opening his own business, the Do-Nut Shop in Mexia.&nbsp;</p> <p>Phil was a Christian and because of his love and concern for his family, it was of the utmost importance that they all come to know the Lord and get saved.&nbsp; His family was his pride and joy.</p> <p>Phil was very outgoing, enjoyed visiting with people, and made friends easily. &nbsp;He, also, enjoyed watching car racing and making trips on his Harley.&nbsp; Phil was a member of the Masonic Lodge for many years.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Geneva Bardin; and nephew, Brian Paul Bardin.</p> <p>Phil is survived by his wife, Vicky Bardin of Mexia; daughters, Lisa Dawn Bardin of Mexia, Tammy Annette Alexander of Austin, Candice Christi Bardin of Houston, Audrey Cadance Bardin of Mexia, Kelly Chapman Ingram and husband, Josh of Mexia, and Katrina Ann Chapman and husband, Chris Smith of Mexia; 15 grandchildren; brother, William Leon Bardin of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Phillip “Phil” Wayne Bardin, longtime Mexia businessman, passed away September 11, 2021 in the Temple VA Hospital at the age of 76.  Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 24, 2021 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating.
