BETTE ANN YOST

<p>A funeral service for Bette Ann Yost, 89, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Wheatland, Wyoming.&nbsp; Interment will be held at the Wheatland Cemetery.</p> <p>Bette passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at her home in Wheatland.</p> <p>Bette Yost was born on Monday, April 18, 1932, the daughter of John Bennington and Kathryn Susan (Mitchell) Phillippi in Wheatland.</p> <p>Bette married Raymond Lee Yost on November 18, 1951 in Wheatland.&nbsp; Bette and Raymond raised, showed, and raced quarter horses for over 50 years in Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Nebraska.&nbsp; Their pride and joy was Bordeaux Kirk (S.I. 104), winner of multiple stakes races.&nbsp; He broke or tied the track records at most Wyoming tracks and won over $50,000 over his career.</p> <p>Her true loves were Raymond, her sons, and her grandchildren.&nbsp; She was instrumental in the raising her granddaughters and nephew, Doug Rask.&nbsp; She was always young at heart and ready with a joke and a smile.&nbsp; She loved children, animals, art, music, and wallpaper.</p> <p>She will be dearly missed by her family and the community.</p> <p>She is survived by her son, Don Yost of Wheatland; four granddaughters, Sommer Maier of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Brittany (Dan) Nicholls of Omaha, Nebraska, Bailey (Corey) Wheeler of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Darbi (Kellan) Anderson of Spearfish, South Dakota; and nine great grandchildren, Harlea and Reaghan Maier, Maddox and Grady Nicholls, Cambry, Canyon, and Ridgeland Wheeler, and Kaizlee and Lowen Anderson.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lee Yost, on February 19, 2010; sons, Troy Ray Yost on November 16, 1992 and Ron Lee Yost on July 22, 2002; nephews, John Phillippi and Doug Rask; and her siblings, Helen Louise Phillippi, Mary Jean Bask, Edward &ldquo;Tuffy&rdquo; Phillippi, and John &ldquo;Jack&rdquo; Phillippi.</p> <p>Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Friday, September 17, 2021.</p> <p>A memorial to the Platte County Legacy Home, 100 Nineteenth Street, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201 would be appreciated by the family.</p> <p>The Gorman Funeral Homes &ndash; Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.</p> <p>Condolences may be sent to the family at www.gormanfh.com</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

I have great memories of Bette through out my childhood. She was always cheerful and inquisitive about the happenings in my life. Fun times were always had with the Yosts and the Finnertys on New Years Day. I am lucky to have known Bette.

Bette was a wonderful neighbor and truly the most genuine person. She had a great sense of humor and my late husband, Larry, got such a kick out of her jokes and stunts. She will be missed by many.
