Mr. John Theodore Hale, Jr., 87, of Walterboro, entered into rest Friday evening, September 10, 2021, in the Oaks at Beaufort.

Born March 30, 1934, in Colleton County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late John T. Hale, Sr. and the late Evie Bennett Hale.  He served our country faithfully in the United States Navy and was a retired agent from American General Life Insurance Company.  He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and will always be remembered for his love of fishing as well as gardening.

Surviving are: his wife, Marjorie Hale, a son, Gary Hale, Sr. of Walterboro; a daughter, Teresa “Terry” Hale Byrd and her husband Charles of Walterboro; three grandchildren, Gary Hale, Jr. (Therasia), Sheryl Hale Dandridge (Aaron), Christina “Christy” Byrd Watkins (Phil), a step-grandchild, Kevin McCubbins; and seven great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Cindy McCubbins Hale; a great granddaughter, Alyssa O’Quinn; and two brothers, Carroll Hale and Tom Hale. 

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, September 15, 2021, from the graveside at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony at the cemetery.
