Christopher Jonathan Isiah Crosley Obituary

Christopher Jonathan Isiah Crosley known as Chris was born on August 29, 1994 in the Harrison Memorial Hospital in the City of Bremerton, Washington.  He was a resident of Bristow, Oklahoma for his elementary and middle school years.  He moved to Glenpool, Oklahoma for his high school years.  He graduated from Glenpool High School in 2013.  Prior to returning to Oklahoma in 1996, his family lived on U.S. Naval Bases in Alaska and Washington states.  Chris had strong ties in Oklahoma since he was baptized in the Springfield Indian Methodist Church in Okemah, Oklahoma.  The move brought him closer to his Muscogee Creek tribal roots and extended families here and in Louisiana.

Chris was a well traveled person, a fashion figure and friend and mentor to many.  He was a loving husband and father and beloved son, brother, nephew and cousin.  As a military family, they often traveled abroad and in the United States.  Those experiences made him congenial and accepting of people and their diversities.

At the age of 12, he developed an interest in skateboarding and enjoyed disc golf.  He loved these two sports.  However, skateboarding became his life interest as the sport grew into a professional sport with its own markets.  He practiced skateboarding as a child in all kinds of weather and in the dark of night.  Then he learned that there were clothes and shoes for “skateboarders”.  He developed his own skateboarding fashion  style  with designer clothes, shoes and caps.  He identified clothing labels that “let you move” at age 14.  In recent years, Chris was sponsored by Vans, QuickieMart Skateshop and SkaterTrainer.  The SkaterTrainer video site states, “if you want to know him before he gets famous”.  These videos showed his level of competitiveness and daring jumps.  Chris recently worked for GeoMetric Skate Shop in Houston, TX and did promotions for their customers.

.As Chris’ family, we simply knew him to be loving, caring, smart and funny with a great sense of wicked humor.   We loved him and his way of looking at life.  It was heartwarming to see him hunt Easter Eggs with Solomon this year.  He also enjoyed the  Gathering Place as much as Solomon.  He was loved and his humor will be greatly missed at family dinners where there was always a seat for his Friends.  We wish that he knew in life as we know in his passing, how many lives he touched with his sport, laughter and kindness.

We were reminded by his many Facebook followers and friends of how he mentored people who wanted to know how to “ride” and repair their skateboards.  The outpouring of love and appreciation of time he spent with these individuals has eased our pain. .

He survived by his wife Autumn Woods-Crosley, son Solomon Crosley, son Sterling Woods-Crosley, mother Alexis Bible Crosley, Bristow, OK, father Sercial Carl Crosley, Houston, TX, grandmother Mercury Lee Spikes Olivier, Deridder, LA., brother Alex Alvarez, Glenpool, OK., nephew A, J, Alvarez, Lacey, WA., niece Abigail Alvarez, Glenpool, OK, sisters Haley York-Chess and Mallory Bible.  Close relatives: aunt Ruth Bible-Ingram, Okemah, OK., uncle Barney  Ingram, Tulsa, OK,  aunt Robyn York, cousin Kim York both of Glenpool, cousin Illiana Dunson,  Glenpool, OK and cousin, Sundala Bible-Pinion, Tulsa, OK.  And a host of other relatives and friends in many places and states.
