Josephine M Sayles
Josephine M. (nee Gietano) Sayles, 92, of Wickliffe, passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, at Altercare of Mentor in Concord Township. Born March 16, 1929, in Cleveland, she had lived in Euclid before moving to Lake County. Josephine was a member of the National Honor Society, Wickliffe Mapledale Elementary School PTA and loved people. She had worked at Euclid Road Machinery before becoming a housewife and had served as a volunteer at the Lake County Board of Elections. Josephine was the loving mother of James T. (Terri) Sayles and Lynn M. Winters; cherished grandmother of Nicole Sayles, Michael Sayles, Kimberlee Winters, Bradlee (Holly) Winters and Kenneth (Amanda) Winters II; great-grandmother of Kenneth III, Naomi, Kyla, Grace, Isaiah, Gwen, Devon, Josiah, Roman and Selah; dear sister of Fran Paxson; sister-in-law of Helen Gietano; and aunt of Sharon, Janice, Barry, David and Leslie. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John J. Sayles (2018); parents, John and Rose (nee Corica) Gietano; and brother, Thomas Gietano. Private family services will be held.
