HALIFAX- Lynn Harris "Turk" Wells, age 72, of Peters Mountain Road, passed away suddenly September 10, 2021 at his residence. He was born on August 22, 1949 in Lykens, the son of [the late] Harrison and Larue (Wingard) Wells. He was a painter for the Painters Local #411, Harrisburg. Lynn was a retired grounds supervisor at the former Harrisburg State Hospital. He was a member of the Denny's Lennies Over the Hill Gang, Halifax; In the past he had worked as a custodial supervisor for the Camp Hill School District. He was the former president of the Halifax Little League Baseball and donated time to the league over the years. He enjoyed attending all the sporting events that his grandchildren participated in, and enjoyed hunting deer and fishing as well as being an avid NASCAR Fan. He also really enjoyed watching NFL football, especially Tom Brady. Lynn is survived by his wife of 29 years, Janice M. (Peters) Wells; Daughter, Sandra L. (Donald) Vuolo, Hazelton, son, Donald Lynn (Sandi) Wells, Halifax, daughter, Shanda L. Bohner, Paxinos, step-son, Matthew M. (Sarah) Hoover, Middletown, step-son, Andrew K. Hoover, Halifax; Special friend, Cathy Lowe, Halifax; Sister, Elizabeth (William) Keefer, Newport; 12 Grandchildren, Dylan, Caitlynn, Kylie, Corey, Eliza, Liam, Lydia, Clay, Elliana, Victoria, Elizabeth and Alexander. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Carl Shomper and James Shomper, sister, Edith Barder and son-in-law, Chad Bohner. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to: St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place • Memphis, TN 38105 (UPDATED)  There will be a life celebration for both Lynn and Janice on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Halifax United Methodist Church at 11 AM .  There will be a visitation from 10-11 AM. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery (Carsonville) Halifax, PA Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., Millersburg, a Minnich Funeral location is handling the arrangements.
