Ethel Mae Wellmon
<p>Ethel Mae Lail Wellmon, 80, of Polkville Road, Shelby, went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at her home.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Burke County, on March 10, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Darling Odell Lail and Nettie Hildebran Lail. She owned and operated Ethel's Family Care Home for close to thirty years and then retired from Copeland. Ethel was a faithful member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Lail, Ted Lail and wife, Bonnie and Luther Lail and wife, Joyce; sister, Nancy Carswell; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Smart and Clarence Hildebran.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her loving husband of forty-seven years, Billy Ray Wellmon; son, Jacob Wellmon and wife, Kristie of Casar; two precious grandchildren, Abbie Wellmon and fiance, Joshua Lindsay and Mason Wellmon both of Casar who she loved dearly; two brothers, Clyde Lail and Hubert Lail and wife Lovena all of Connelly Springs; three sisters, Suzie Smart of Hickory, Frances Hildebran and Dorothy Wellman and husband, Wayne all of Connelly Springs; sister-in-law, Brenda Lail of Hickory; and brother-in-law Dennis Carswell of Connelly Springs. </p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm, at Morris Memorial Baptist Church.</p><p><br></p><p>The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Morris Memorial Baptist Church with the Dr. Chris Emory officiating.</p><p><br></p><p>The burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial may be made to Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150</p><p><br></p><p>A guest register is available at www.stameytysingerfuneralhome.com.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements have been entrusted to Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Fallston, NC.</p>Obituary
