BRONIS CANTRELL Obituary

Bronis Cantrell, 87, of Piqua, passed away at 3:25 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Versailles Rehabilitation & Healthcare. He was born April 2, 1934 in West Liberty, Kentucky to the late Carl and Minnie (Wright) Cantrell. He married Ruie Pennington August 6, 1954 in West Liberty, Kentucky; she preceded him in death May 4, 2002.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra (Brad) Schock of Piqua; a granddaughter, Brooklyn (Benjamin) Walter; two great granddaughters, Annabelle, Alexandra; three great grandsons, Austin, Augustus “Gus”, Ayrton; one brother, Cove Cantrell; an ex-son-in-law, Dick (Mary) Decker; three nieces, Trisha (David) Bowman, Phyllis (Phil) Snapp, Sharon (Tom) Brandt; two nephews, David (Lisa) Cantrell, Larry (Debbie) Cantrell; and many other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethelene Goolsby, Goldie Cantrell, Frona Margaret Peyton; two brothers, Buford Cantrell and Buel Cantrell; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Cantrell.

Mr. Cantrell worked as the group leader for the welding department of Emerson-Copeland for forty-four years before his retirement. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, playing cards, and antiquing and attending yard sales with his daughter. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Bronis was a hardworking, salt of the earth man who was meticulous and took great pride in caring for his yard and his cars. He was a dedicated husband, having cared for Ruie through her illness and able to keep her at home throughout. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed every opportunity to spoil them, especially his grandchild and great grandchildren.

A service to honor his life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Ryan Snapp officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, Inc. P.O.
