Nellie G. Henry, 86, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Trailpoint Village in South Bend, IN. Nellie was born on August 30, 1935 in Franklin, KY to the late Bill and Lacy (Williams) Stovall.

On June 19, 1962, Nellie married the love of her life, Monroe C. Henry. They enjoyed 47 years of marriage before Monroe passed away on December 2, 2009.

Nellie was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board for thirty years. She also served as the church’s secretary. Nellie always attended Sunday School, Sunday services and Bible study. She had a quiet and meek spirit, and she loved God. Nellie embodied a virtuous woman and lived out Proverbs 31:10-31. Her favorite scriptures were Psalms 23 and Psalms 91, and she had both memorized.

Nellie was a faithful wife and mother. She genuinely enjoyed her husband, children and grandchildren. She absolutely cherished her daughters-in-law, Stephanie and Denita.  She also loved watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

Left to cherish Nellie’s memory are her daughters and sons: Savannah Henry of Indianapolis, IN, Ronald (Stephanie) Henry of Waxahachie, TX, Melvin (Denita) Henry of Granger, IN, Vivian Henry of Phoenix, AZ, Jacqueline (Lynn) Harris of Fishers, IN, Deborah (Milton) Hunter of Indianapolis, IN, Glenda Singh of Indianapolis, IN and Karen (Derrick) Preston of South Bend, IN; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
