Obituary

Margaret Ann Booth passed away in the early morning hours of September 11, 2021. Margaret’s most treasured roles in life were wife, mother, and granny.  She married the love of her life, Franklin Booth, at 17 years old, and has been devoted ever since to loving him and their family with such a fierceness.  She showed this love to the so often, baking cakes and goodies (and her famous pralines) for every occasion and often no occasion at all.

She was always ready for an adventure, and was blessed in this life with so many incredible friends to share those adventures with.

Margaret will forever be remembered for the way she proudly boasted on Facebook all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s accomplishments, for all her smiling victories during late night card games with friends, for her “tell-it-like-it-is” attitude that kept those she loved in line, and most importantly for joyfully bringing her entire family together every chance she got.  Margaret will be so incredibly missed by all who loved and were loved by her.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Fletcher Smith and Mary Worsham; sister, Cathy Williams; brother-in-law, Lawrence Williams; and brother, Wayne Smith.  Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 52 years, Franklin Booth; children, Sherry Dueitt (David), Kenneth Booth (Karra), and James Booth (Tracy); grandchildren, Ethan, Landon, Madison, Nathan, Garrett, Gaige, Grace, and Caleb; great-grandchildren, Lennox and Laikynn; siblings, Linda Overstreet and Cedar Smith; nephew, Jay Wayne Smith; and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am funeral service Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Gulfcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Gray and Rev. Marcus Hobbs officiating.  Burial will follow in Gulfcrest Cemetery.  Online condolences may be given at www.freemancitronelle.com.  Freeman Funeral Home – Citronelle, Alabama
