Stella Garcia Rael

Stella M. Rael, 85, a resident of Las Cruces, was born on January 26, 1936, in Española, New Mexico and unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday August 17, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Tony R. Martinez and Josephine Martinez of Guachupangue, her husband Mel Rael of Santa Fe, her brother Joe Martinez of Santa Fe, her sister Isabelle Martinez of San Pedro, her brother Orlando Martinez of San Pedro, NM and her nephew Jimmy Martinez of San Pedro, NM. For those of you who knew Stella know how kind, caring, generous, and loving of a person she was. She was a loving Mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed working in her yard that kept her busy and taking care of the many stray cats that crossed her path. Stella retired from Albertsons grocery store and enjoyed her many years of retirement. She is survived by her son Kenny Montoya and wife Yvonne of Las Cruces, son Tommy Montoya and wife Holly of Las Cruces, daughter Angela (Montoya) Marquez and husband Michael of Las Vegas, NV, brother Ross Martinez and wife Flora of Santa Fe, brother Guadalupe (Lupe) Martinez of Espanola, brother Tony Martinez Jr. of Santa Fe, and many nephews and nieces and friends. Stella was loved greatly by her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed.
