Silence S. Triplett Obituary

Silence “Encie” Triplett ,74, passed away suddenly August 23 at Dartmouth-Hanover Hospital, just 10 days shy of her 75th birthday. Encie was born in Washington, D.C. in 1946 and has lived in New Hampshire since the 1960’s. She spent many summers at the family’s boys camp, Camp Wachusett, in Holderness, and at Camp Asquam in Centre Harbor. She worked at various stores in Plymouth, specifically the Saliba family’s Style Center on Main Street. Encie graduated from Plymouth State University with a degree in Education. Encie remained in the Plymouth/Rumney area and worked as a teacher in Wentworth, a financial and legal researcher, and a paralegal with many local individuals and companies like Conklin - Reynolds. She was well known for her thoroughness, compassion, and accuracy. Silence did her estate planning with grace, kindness and understanding often providing pro Bono services for friends when she was self-employed. She was truly a paralegal who really cared and performed services with a high level of integrity, loyalty, and honesty. Encie and her husband, Paul, had many friends in Rumney and throughout the Lakes Region and provided unselfish assistance to many people and businesses. Many of these friends have provided emotional and physical assistance to her family who were shocked about her sudden passing. She was an avid collector of New Hampshire memorabilia and fine antiques, especially engravings by Bartlett and Sawyer and hand painted post cards of New Hampshire life. She adored her cat, Gray. Together they enjoyed bird watching at her many feeders. Silence was predeceased by her father William Harrison Triplett, her mother Martha Wilson Triplett and her husband Paul McLeod. She is survived by her brother Bill (Caroline) sister Peggy, sister Lloydie Triplett Zaiser (Bill) and an extended family of 3 nieces, 5 nephews and their 8 children. She will be eternally missed by those who knew and loved her. Encie and Paul will be interred in Leesburg, VA at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Encie’s name to The Wentworth Congregational Church, The Chocoura Lake Conservation Foundation, or The Loon Preservation Committee in Moultonborough, NH.
