Thomas G. "Jerry" Hickey

<p>Thomas G. &ldquo;Jerry&rdquo; Hickey passed away peacefully September 7, 2021, at U H Geauga Medical Center in Chardon.&nbsp; He was born November 1, 1943, in Painesville to William and Edith (Hinton) Hickey. Jerry was a life-long resident of Painesville.</p> <p>Jerry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.&nbsp; For over 50 years, he owned and operated United Sales, Inc., a family business originally founded by his father. Jerry was fiercely Irish and rarely turned down a chance to share stories of the family&rsquo;s Irish heritage. Jerry was also a proud alum of the University of Arizona. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping and collecting model cars. Jerry was a dog-person to his core, and he especially loved German Shepherds. Most of all, Jerry was a devoted family man and was never more happy to spend time with the entire family. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Jerry is survived by his bride of 49 years, Carol (Pomfrey) Hickey; sons, Timothy (Michelle) Hickey, Geoffrey S. (Emily) Hickey and Douglas Hickey; daughter, Kimberly (Mark) Zimmerman; grandchildren, Bryan (Marissa) Zimmerman, Bret Zimmerman, Brayden Zimmerman, Danica Zimmerman, Gregory (Binbin) Hickey, Geoffrey R. Hickey, Isaac Hickey and R. J. Hickey.</p> <p>Jerry is now reunited with his brothers, James, William, Robert, and Dennis Hickey; sister, Patricia Hickey, and his parents, in Heaven. Word is the next St. Patrick&rsquo;s Day is going to be a wild one.</p> <p>A Memorial Service with military honors will be held Sunday, September 12th at 2:00 PM at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.&nbsp; Friends will be received from 1:00 &ndash; 2:00 PM before the service.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry&rsquo;s memory may be made to Sub Zero Mission, 1760 North Ridge Road, Painesville, Ohio 44077 or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, P. O. Box 72101, Cleveland, Ohio 44192.</p>
