Angie Ruth Annonson Obituary

Angie Ruth Annonson, 91, of Pinewood, MN died Saturday, September 4, 2021 at her home. Angie was born June 18, 1930 in Albert Lea, MN, the daughter of Donald and Lulu (Young) Ladd. She is named for her beloved Auntie. Angie took Jesus’ hand home on September 4, 2021. Intensely proud of her English ancestry, dating back to the beginning of America with family arriving as early as 1630’s. Angie was raised in a large, tight-knit farm family. The family moved to Debs by train through Pinewood in the spring of 1934. Angie enjoyed school days at the Debs School. She often told of walking to school with her brothers and sisters. Angie was a “Hello Girl” (PBX operator) for “Ma Bell”. During her young adult years, she worked as a nanny. Her love of children and domestic abilities truly shined. In 1958, she married Allen Annonson. She raised four daughters. She was eager to share her appreciation of nature, especially after an afternoon walk. She’d come home with a piece of nature- a stone, an unusual sprig of grass or a wildflower. Her evenings were spent doing needlework, or late into the night canning, making sure all the jars were sealed. They were sealed with pride of a good harvest. She was a fine baker. The cookie jar rarely stayed full. She grew roses, irises and lilies. So tender with their care like with children. Angie divorced Allen after their empty nest. She treasured her grandchildren and spent a great amount of time with her grandson Paul. “The Gammy” was special. “The sun will not rise or set, without my notice or thanks.” Winslow Homer She is survived by her daughters, Paula, Kathleen (Douglas), and Theresa (Michael), 5 grandchildren, Paul-Michael, Allison, Melissa, Christopher and Jennifer, sisters Ellen and Joan. She was preceded in death by her son Francis, daughter Jennifer, ex-husband Allen, sisters Margaret and Rose, brothers Glendon and Donald, Jr. and an infant granddaughter. Memorials are preferred to MN Conservation or plant a tree for Angie. You’re home now. We’ll shut the porch light out. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, September 10, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wilton, MN. Interment will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Wilton under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji. Condolences may be left at ceasefuneralhome.com.
