<p>Christine Lee Burke, 64, of Rossville, passed away at 5:14 p.m. Monday, September 6, 2021, at Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center.</p> <p>Chris was born on June 3, 1957, in Danville, the daughter of Herbert A. and Iona Ree (Rife) Smith Jr.</p> <p>She is survived by one daughter- Jessica (Andy) Atchie of Hoopeston; one son- Billy (Jess) Burke of Hoopeston; eight grandchildren- Jaren (Megan) West, Jadyn West, Tobi West, Alexa Burke, Noah Burke, Michaela Atchie, Mackenzie Atchie and Jackie Atchie; two brothers- Mark Smith and Brian (Jill) Smith both of Rossville; best friend- Marilyn Williams of Rossville; and several nieces and nephews.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents and brother- David Smith.</p> <p>Chris graduated from Rossville Alvin High School, in 1975.&nbsp; She last worked at Joan of Arc, in Hoopeston, as a forklift driver.&nbsp; She enjoyed listening to music, reading, dancing, shopping, and animals, especially her cats she called &quot;The Boys&quot; Moe and Ryder.&nbsp; Chris loved spending time with her family and going to her grandchildren&rsquo;s sporting and school events.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>A Celebration of Christine&rsquo;s Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston, with Harry Walker officiating.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.&nbsp; Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.&nbsp; Memorials may be made to H.A.R.T. 901 W. Christine Lee Burke, 64, of Rossville, passed away at 5:14 p.m. Monday, September 6, 2021, at Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center.

Chris was born on June 3, 1957, in Danville, the daughter of Herbert A. and Iona Ree (Rife) Smith Jr.
