Albert M. Kiehl, 92, Detroit Lakes, died Sunday, September 5 at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Saturday, September 11 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Entombment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will take place 5:00 – 7:00 pm with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:30 and Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm Friday at David-Donehower Funeral Home.  The visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the mass at the church on Saturday.

Albert Manfred Kiehl was born September 29, 1928 in rural Audubon, Minnesota to Henry and Agnes (Anderson) Kiehl.  He attended country school near Audubon until the family moved to a farm in Richwood Township.  He completed his schooling at a country school in Richwood Township.  Following his schooling, Albert farmed with his parents.  He was united in marriage to Alice Schouviller, November 14, 1951 at Assumption Catholic Church in Callaway.  They farmed in Richwood Township and Albert also worked on the ice harvest for the Fargo-Detroit Ice Company.  In 1966, they started spending their winters in Florida.  While there, they worked at Citrus World, Green Leaf Golf and Tennis and Cyprus Gardens.  In 2005, they discontinued going to Florida and made Detroit Lakes their home. 

Albert enjoyed working the land and had several flower gardens on the farm.  He also enjoyed tinkering in his shop, volunteering, playing pinochle and the Minnesota Twins.  Albert was also a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Alice of Detroit Lakes, a nephew, Larry Kiehl of Detroit Lakes and 2 nieces, Terri Laub of Florida and Lois Kozitka of Detroit Lakes and many cousins.
