<p>Jan Folstad passed away Saturday, September 4th, at her home at Deer Crest Memory Care in Red Wing. She was two weeks shy of her 90th birthday. Jan was born to Jacob and Elizabeth Thom in Big River, WI. She grew up on the family farm with her sisters and brothers; Roman, Donald, Elaine, Sally and Shirley. The family moved to Red Wing in 1941. In her late teen years, she worked for Red Wing Shoe. Jan married Harry L. Miller in 1950. They had two children, Judy and Dave. Harry passed away in 1962 from a boating accident. In 1968, she married Grant Folstad (children Bill Powers and Pamela Folstad). She and Grant enjoyed their cabin in Balsam Lake, and later their winter getaways in Tucson, Arizona. Jan loved her work at Miss C&rsquo;s clothing store in Red Wing, and was known as &lsquo;Glamour Grandma&rsquo; by her great-granddaughters. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Jan was an 80-year member of St. Joseph&rsquo;s Catholic Church in Red Wing, MN.</p> <p>She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Ron) Schultz of Rochester; son, Dave (Kay) Miller of Hastings; step-son Bill (Sue) Powers of St. Cloud; her sister, Shirley Martinsen. She also is survived by six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.</p> <p>Jan was preceded in death by her parents, step-dad, Albert Reis; her husbands, Harry L. Miller and Grant Folstad; her brothers, Romie and Donnie; her sisters, Elaine and Sally; her grandson, Ronnie; and step-daughter Pamela Irvin.</p> <p>Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to Church of St. Joseph&nbsp;and Deer Crest Senior Living Memory Care. Funeral arrangements by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
