They later moved to Hibbing, Minnesota where she graduated from Hibbing High School in 1942, then began school to become an Army nurse, ultimately graduating as a Registered Nurse. She married her high school sweetheart John Puhek on June 21, 1947. Shortly afterwards, Lorraine and John moved to San Diego, California where she continued her work as a nurse. In 1952, she focused on her family as her first of eight children were born. In 1962, Lorraine and John moved to Westchester, California where she lived the rest of her life. As her children grew older, she restarted her nursing career, ultimately retiring in 1989, then stayed active with volunteer activities primarily focused on building/maintaining trails and serving as a Travelers Aid at Los Angeles International Airport. Lorraine loved her husband and her family. She looked forward to annual family camping trips to Yosemite, Yellowstone, Sequoia, and other beautiful areas. Mother, we love and miss you! We'll cherish all the memories of our family and time together.
