Shirley M. Pellecchia

Shirley M. (Paggioli) Pellecchia, 87, of Ellington, passed away on September 4, 2021. She was born in Manchester to Anthony and Alberta (Reid) Paggioli. She attended the Connecticut School for the Blind before graduating from Manchester High School. Shirley was married to the late Albert V. Pellecchia for 31 years. She enjoyed making a home for her two daughters and the many other children she cared for. She was known to many as “Auntie Shirley.” She always made time to sit and listen to those who visited her, often giving them words of wisdom. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Church and would help set up for the monthly Mass at Florence Mill Apartments, where she resided for over twenty years. Shirley loved cats and had a huge knick knack collection which she treasured as each new cat was added because someone special gave it to her. Shirley leaves her daughter, Carmen Maloon (husband Leland), three grandchildren, Jennifer Werdell (husband Jeremy), Christopher Maloon (wife Stacy) and Rachel Ogilvie. She also leaves three great-grandchildren, Jakob, Ella, and Cody; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Geraldine, sister Antoinette and brother Anthony. Relatives and friends may join the family on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 4:00 - 6:00pm at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect Street, Rockville, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville, CT.
