Betty Louise Homeier, age 93, died on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Sacred Heart Care Center, Austin. Funeral services will be at Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Dennis Tamke officiating. Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Betty Louise, the daughter of Walter and Ella (Klatt) Barfknecht was born on July 7, 1928, Faribault. She graduated from Faribault High School in 1946. She married Luverne F. Homeier on February 11, 1951, in Faribault and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2015. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, completing puzzles and doing word search games and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Homeier of Owatonna and Shirley (and Bob) Olson of Austin; five grandchildren, Gabe Homeier (and Amy Vasey), Naomi (and Gideon) Thompson, James Homeier (and Andrea Rhodes), Greg Schmidt (and Kelly Koktavy), and Paul Schmidt (and Shelly Elwood); seven great grandchildren, Michaela Homeier, Kelsey Homeier, Alyssa Homeier, Morgan Thompson, Drake Thompson, Ava Schmidt, and Addison Schmidt; one sister-in-law, Marjorie Barfknecht of Owatonna; other relatives; and friends.
