Teresa V. Kelly, 93 died surrounded by her family on Aug 28, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Queensbury NY.

She was born on June 8, 1928 in Brooklyn NY and was the youngest of 7 children born to Francis H Santy and Bridget M (Fitzgerald) Santy.

She worked as an overseas telephone operator for AT&T before she married. After raising her 8 children she reentered the workforce as a switchboard operator for the law firm of Dewey Ballantine in Manhattan NY until her retirement in 1993.

Teresa married her one and only love John T Kelly of Brooklyn NY in January of 1950. They spent 50 cherished years of marriage together raising 8 children in Staten Island NY and welcomed 27 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren into their life and hearts.

Upon her retirement she and her husband John moved to their country cabin in Locke, NY. She spent many wonderful years there and was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Teresa was a devoted and loving mother and wife. She loved to spend her time with her family and was an accomplished craftsperson. She made many beautifully crocheted items for family and charitable organizations. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, needlepoint and preserving all of her favorite moments into treasured family photo albums.

She is survived by her children Therese O’Brien (Thomas) of Ocean View DE, Geraldine McDonough (Patrick) of Lansing NY, Matthew Kelly (Ruth) of Daytona Beach FL, Mary Jane Seamans (Howard) of Locke NY, Christopher Kelly of Ocean View DE, Michael Kelly (Colleen) of Poughquag NY, Patricia Hall (Richard) of Queensbury NY and Robert Kelly (Terri) of Ocean View, DE as well as her beloved 27 grandchildren, GG to 10 great grandchildren and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband John T Kelly who died in 2000 she was also predeceased by her beloved son John F Kelly and her 6 siblings.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday September 4, 2021 at noon at Saint Anthony‘s Catholic Church in Groton, New York. Interment will follow in Saint Anthony’s cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday September 3, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Zirbel funeral home 115 Williams St. Groton New York
