James V. Hembree

<p><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">James V. Hembree, passed away peacefully August 26, 2021 at the age of 92. He was born April 25, 1929 in Arley, AL the youngest son of the late Walter and Myrtie May(Lay) Hembree. </span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">James married his wife Bernice on September 11, 1948 in Aberdeen, MS. &nbsp;He served in the&nbsp;US Marine Corps, Platoon 216, during the Korean War and worked in Milwaukee for the Local 75 Plumbers Union for 20 years.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">James is survived by his soulmate Bernice (n&eacute;e Stephens) of 73 years. Loving father of two boys James &ldquo;Doug&rdquo;(Marilyn) Hembree and Jeff (Wanda) Hembree. &nbsp;Amazing grandfather &ldquo;Pepaw&rdquo; to Jason Hembree, Angie (Kenny) Lipinski, Steven (Andrea) Hembree, Erica (Mark) Piekarski, Jenna (Bill) Holland, and Katie (Kyle) Block. The best great grandfather to 14, and loving great grandfather to the late Peyton Marie Holland. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. &nbsp;The family wishes to thank and commend the staff at Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion in caring for Jim in his final days.&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Private services to be held at a later date.</span></span><br /> &nbsp;</p>

Jim & Bernice were our neighbors for many years. We spent much time together over the last 8 years. The love they had for each other was evident, a love most could hope to have in this lifetime! We will miss Jim greatly!
