Fleta Smith Cook

Macon - Fleta Smith Cook, age 83, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, at her residence. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 2:00 PM, at Porterfield Baptist Church in Macon, with Pastor Chris Dotson officiating. Mrs. Fleta was born in Bleckley County and was the daughter of the late William Henry Smith and Mary Cleo Belflower Smith. She was the widow of Charles Ronald Cook and was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Blue Cook and William "Bo" Cook; brothers, William Clen "Smitty" Smith and A.B. Smith. Mrs. Fleta was a graduate of Cochran High School and worked as the Assistant Chief of the Lab for Coliseum Medical Center, where she retired. She was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church and was active in the Children's Church Ministry. Survivors are her daughter Melody Cook of Macon; granddaughter, Lindsay Elizabeth Cook of Macon; grandsons, William Connor Cook and Julian Durden both of Macon. The family will greet friends following the service in the church.
