Nace C. Wiley

<p>Nace Clements Wiley, age 104, of Providence, NC, died on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at his residence.&nbsp;The oldest son of Gaines J. Wiley and Nancy Boswell Wiley, he was born in Pittsylvania County, VA in the Irish Road community. He attended Whitmell Farm Life School before moving to Caswell County, NC in his early teens.&nbsp; He attended schools there and began working on the family farm.&nbsp; He then served in the US Army Air Corp in England with the 601 squadron of the 398th Bomb Group, servicing B17 bombers, until he end of the war.&nbsp; Soon after returning from England, he married the former Addie Maude Rowland of Blanch, NC.&nbsp; They attended Providence Baptist Church.&nbsp; He spent the remainder of his working days employed in the maintenance department of Dan River Mills.&nbsp; After retiring, he spent many years in his gardens and helping people in his family, community, and faithfully attended the Dan River Retirement Club.&nbsp; He remained a true Patriot for the rest of his days.</p> <p>In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Addie R. Wiley; brothers, Morris C. Wiley and Chesley G. Wiley, and a sister Anne W. Sizemore.&nbsp; Having no children of his own, he was a loving uncle and father figure for the many nieces and nephews who survive.&nbsp; They will greatly miss his love, guidance, and friendship.</p> <p>Funeral services for Mr. Wiley will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Barker Funeral Home with Pastor Mitch Cifers officiating. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.</p> <p>Barker Funeral Home is respectfully serving the Wiley family.&nbsp;</p>
