<p>Michael Christopher Hawkins, 28, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in Oak Island, NC.</p> <p>He is survived by his mother, Dionne Madison and husband, Christopher of Shelby, NC, a sister, Amber Hawkins of Shelby, NC, two aunts, Veronica Schwartz and husband, Mike of Georgetown, SC, Tina Hawkins Wesson and husband Joe, of Shelby, NC, his grandparents, Revonda White and husband, Jack of Fallston, NC, and grandparents, Ron and Hilda Hawkins of Shelby, NC.</p> <p>Born in Cleveland County on July 10, 1993, Michael was the son of the late Christopher Hawkins. He was also preceded in death by his grandfather, Benjamin De&rsquo;Vond Smith, as well as his great grandparents, Drew and Helen Hawkins and W.S. and Evelyn Davis.</p> <p>Michael loved playing video games, especially on his pc. He was passionate about driving anything with four wheels or more. He was a devoted friend and would do anything for those close to him, driving friends when they needed a ride out of state, from North Carolina to Florida, West Virginia, and Illinois. Michael also loved his family, especially his sister Amber. He will be missed by all who knew him and will be especially remembered for his witty, quick sense of humor.</p> <p>A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Double Springs Baptist Church with a visitation following the service.&nbsp;</p> <p>It is requested that those in attendance wear face mask coverings and practice social distancing.&nbsp;</p>
