Raymond B. Wyrwas Jr.

<p>Wyrwas – Raymond B. Jr., 72, Vinco, passed away on August 19, 2021. Born on June 8, 1949 in Johnstown, son of the late Raymond B. Sr. and Alverda M. (Grata) Wyrwas. He is survived by his loving children, Angela R. Childers, Yemassee, SC, Raymond B III (Rebecca), Gilbert, SC; grandchildren, Alverda R. Childers and fiancé Zach Smith, Gillsonville, SC, Bear Childers and his significant other, Sylvia Morgan, Myrtle Beach, SC, Raylyn N. Wyrwas and her fiancé, Garrett Gilliland, Saluda, SC, Raymond B. Wyrwas IV, Saluda, SC, Frances Ludwig, Myrtle Beach, SC, Theodore and Owen Ludwig, both of Gilbert, SC, and McKenzie Griffing, Beaufort, SC; great-grandchildren, Briley Rose Gilliland and Jace Childers; brother, Richard B. (Christina) Wyrwas, Vinco; girlfriend, Tammy Plummer; nieces, Erica (Darryl) VanBeek and Shanae (Jeremiah) Wertz; nephews, Rich (DeAnna) Wyrwas and Rock (Liz) Wyrwas; great nieces and nephew, Justus, Riddik, Abby and Zoe and many friends. Ray was a graduate of Central Cambria High School. He was a US Marine Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. In his younger days, Ray was a farrier for many farmers. He retired from the PA State Hospital System. Ray enjoyed living in his valley and walking in the “crik” with his grandchildren and his dogs as well as coaching baseball. Most of all, Ray loved spending time with his family and friends and chasing his free-range cows around the mountain. Friends will be received from noon until time of service at 3 p.m. on Monday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, Fr. Robert C. Hall. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by Conemaugh Valley Det. #287 Marine Corp League Ritual Team Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
