Billy Wayne White, 69, passed from this life on August 7,2021 at his home in Vardaman, Mississippi after a long illness. He was born October 3, 1951, in Batesville, Mississippi to the late Sam Ellis White and Maude Lucille Robinson White. One of eleven (11) siblings, Billy Wayne grew up around the state as his mother and father were sharecroppers. He left school at an early age and worked alongside his parents on the various farms throughout Mississippi. A long-time Calhoun County resident, Billy Wayne was a loving husband of 31 years to Debbie Dye White and was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, brother and friend. His family was his primary love and joy. They could always depend on him to “freely” share his wisdom and his wit. Everyone who knew him has a story to share about him as he was loved and admired by many. Billy Wayne was a man who enjoyed the outdoors and was fortunate that his professional career allowed him to work in that environment. With a strong work ethic which he instilled in his children, Billy Wayne was employed by Nabors Hardware for 18 years and Calhoun County for 18 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator. People in the county would call on him frequently for jobs, big and small, because he was dependable as well as very skilled in operating a variety of equipment. Despite his lack of a formal education, he was a mathematics whiz and could work out any calculation in his head which served him well in his chosen vocation. A member of College Hill Baptist Church in Vardaman, Billy Wayne was a Christian who loved and leaned on the Lord for strength especially during the challenges brought on by his illness. Survivors include his wife, Debbie; his children: Christie White Vance (Cory) of Calhoun City, MS; Heather White of Millbrook, AL; Josh Langford (Suzy) and Anna Laney (Ray) both of Vardaman, MS; His grandchildren: Abby Claire and Olivia Grace Vance; Taylor Harcrow; Kristen Godwin (DJ); Laken and Peyton Boone; Hagen Langford; Tanner Havens; Logan and Jacey Jenkins; Jonathan and PJ Laney; Five (5) great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters : Don White (Linda) of Pittsboro, MS; James White of Hattiesburg, MS; David White of Big Creek, MS; Celeste Chandler of Mobile, AL; Faye Nabors (Fred) of Calhoun City, MS; Myra Weaver (Bobby) of Calhoun City, MS; Teresa Warner (Jim) of Big Creek, MS; and Margaret Hubbard of Calhoun City, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Charles White and Sonny White; Infant grandson, Brady Todd Vance; and Infant grandson, Hayden Langford. There will be a private family service at Pryor Chapel on Monday, August 9th Followed by a Burial and visitation service at the graveside at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens for all family and friends at 3:00 p.m. Brother Mike Ramage, Brother Jimmy Vance and Brother Chance parish will officiate at the services. Pallbearers are: Tony Morgan, Robert Bennett; Ryan Weaver, Kenny Clanton, Brian Allen, and Darrell Love. Honorary Pallbearers are: Carter Burns, Jerry Mitchell, Jay Griffin, Charles Jones and Mike Holladay. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Mississippi Methodist Senior Services.
