Johan Henrich Dittmer

Dittmer, Johan Henrich The passing of Johan Henrich Dittmer of Fredericton, NB, husband of Loretta Doak, occurred on August 1, 2021 at York Care Center. Born on November 23, 1943 in Amsterdam, Holland, he was the son of the late Johan and Alida (Kattouw) Dittmer. Johan had two children, Johan and Jennifer, before immigrating from Holland to Ontario, Canada. He worked for Eastern Airlines for many years and held many certificates in woodworking, electrical, arts and other areas of interest. Johan loved hunting, fishing, boating, tinkering and all things in nature. He is survived by his wife Loretta Doak of Fredericton. We are sure he is going to miss his bride of 32 years. Their last 10 months were spent together at York Care Centre, with daily visits, outings and meals together. Besides his wife Loretta and children Johan and Jennifer, Johan is survived by his step-daughters Lisa Bidlake (John Jardine), Lori Bidlake-Pinsent (Miles Pinsent), three grand-children whom he adored dearly, Taylor Bidlake, Tyson Pinsent and Dylan Jardine; brother Hank and sister Nelly. A special thank you to the Oromocto Public Hospital, the Veteran’s Unit, Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital and York Care Centre, where Johan had spent his last two years. A special thank you to the staff at Birch Grove and Tower 3 who supported our family during this time and put up with his shenanigans and witty humour. A graveside services will be held on Monday August 9, 2021 at 1pm at the St. James the Greater Anglican Church Cemetery, Ludlow, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to St. James the Greater Anglican Cemetery, Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick or to the York Care Foundation. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
