Amber Yingling Obituary

A Life Well Spent Amber was born the younger of a set of twins on December 4th, 1991 at Madigan Army Medical Center in Washington State. Amber more importantly was born again at the age of four in April of 1995, placing her trust in Jesus Christ as her Saviour. This did not come as a surprise to us because from her birth we knew that she was a special child from the Lord. Being born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate, at three months old she had the first of 18 surgeries culminating by age 17. Even from a young age she never complained about the trials God allowed her to go through. In fact, she had such an encouraging attitude that many of those who never met her in person were impressed by the joy that came across in her voice. Those who did meet her commented on her contagiously beautiful smile. Her life was about others! At a young age in kindergarten and first grade she was an underdog because she was different. Leah, her twin sister, was always there to watch out for her. Amber had compassion towards others who were left out and would reach out to them. Her empathy was translated into a ministry of cooking meals and baking cookies or other treats for those who were going through a trial or had a need of encouragement. From second grade on, Amber was home-schooled. She was always highly motivated, very intelligent and a hard worker. She was also a great help to her mother with her baby sister Faith; often school was accomplished with Faith on her lap. Leah, her twin, and her older brother Keith were an integral part of Amber’s life. Keith was not only big brother but a friend and role model. He loved her greatly. Leah went from being her protector in kindergarten to her compassionate loving care giver as she began to need support. Faith and Amber became best buddies and spent many hours talking, Faith getting advice from her Godly wise older sister. Her Dad and Mom loved Amber greatly and raised her in the nurture and admonition of the LORD. Darren was her kind and loving Daddy, a friend and role model. He took care of her in every way he could. Her Mom often became her “Momma Bear” to tackle problems with and for her as she faced battles in sickness. Amber’s early childhood faith in Jesus Christ would later become her foundation, rock, and fortress to withstand the boisterous storms she faced in life. Amber’s many hobbies include gardening, because she loved watching vegetables and flowers grow. She had a passion for learning and greatly enjoyed reading challenging history books, even studied the dictionary for fun. She new the history behind many songs and hymns and loved to sing and play a variety of musical instruments unto the Lord. Because Amber loved God’s Word, she put to memory many verses and chapters of the Bible, including all of the book of Proverbs. Amber was honored to have been part of her brother Keith and Hollie’s wedding. A greater joy was to be able to know and love their children Jaclyn, Dakoda, Whitney and Kimberly. Amber impacted their lives with a love for art, spending hours coloring and teaching them how to make cards for others. She passed on a goodly heritage to them and all of us. After graduation, Amber obtained her driver's license and began to work as a caregiver. Her goal was to raise money to help pay for her college. We believe she wanted to pursue either education or a degree in the medical field, both of which would have been used on the mission field serving her Lord and Saviour. Her plans were drastically changed after repeated infections in her body. Amber began to show signs of dysautonomia. Because it is not a commonly recognized disease, especially in its early stages, it took over a year for her to be diagnosed. Praise the Lord, we met Dr. Adams, a neurologist. Through his ability and wisdom, Dr. Adams diagnosed and began treating Amber. Currently there is no cure for neurological autonomic disease or dysautonomia. God brought together a great team of doctors and some of her symptoms started to diminish. Throughout her lifetime Amber underwent a multitude of life supporting surgeries as her disease progressed. Amber fought courageously to overcome the disabilities her disease brought into her life and she did it with joy. Encouraging others became a means of having victory over the hinderances that she endured. For example, as her ability to cook decreased she began making cards as a way to minister to others. That ministry was appropriately named "Merry Heart Art” with the goal and purpose of making and giving cards to others. Numerous people have told us how they not only were encouraged with her cards, but Amber also frequently texted others who were struggling. Belonging to a few blogs regarding dysautonomia, her purpose was to help others and herself grow in the understanding of her disease. Ultimately her goal and hope was to share the Gospel with each individual who reached out to her. In her ministry through blogs and texting, Amber was able to see many come to put their trust in Christ as Saviour. In the worst of her illness Amber made others a priority. When confined to her bed at home or in the hospital she was often observed texting people to encourage them. As a way to minister to her family she would search for and download Godly music to play in our home. Amber would choose special songs to play for us as we took her to the emergency room! During her last days she fervently sought music to bring us comfort and encourage us in our walk with God as if she knew she was going to be leaving to be with her Heavenly Father. She taught and impacted us in her life, in her sickness, and in her death. We thank God for the heritage He has given to us through Amber’s life, exhibited by her love for God, her spirit, music, and devotion to others. We will sorely miss her!!!!!!!! Her absence will be felt not only by her family, Church family, but those across the world who were touched by Amber through her testimony. She loves her Lord and it's her desire that in her death many will also come to accept her Friend and Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ. Amber is survived by her father Darren; her mother Barbara; her sisters Leah and Faith; her brother Keith and his wife Hollie; their children Jaclyn, Dakoda, Whitney, and Kimberly; and her maternal Grandmother Linda Barlow as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. Amber was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents David and Irene Yingling, and her maternal grandfather, Robert Barlow. Burial will take place at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on Thursday, August 12 at 11:00 a.m. (In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Missions program at Grace Baptist Church to reach more souls for salvation locally and across the world.)
