<p>Walter &ldquo;Wally&rdquo; Earl Luke, age 78 of Anderson, IN passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021.</p> <p>Walter enlisted in the Navy after completing grade 10, where he earned his high-school equivalency. He served in the Navy from 1960-1964 as a Gunners Mate on 3 med cruises. He then went on to work as an electrician for over 30 years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers&nbsp;(IBEW) Local #1151.</p> <p>Walter enjoyed reading and watching Sci-Fi movies, playing Solitare, and solving crossword puzzles.</p> <p>Walter is preceded in death by parents, Alfred Henry Luke and Mary Francis McCoy; brother, James Luke; sister, RuthAnn Tischner; son, Thomas Henry Luke; daughter, April Dawne Helvie (Luke); and grand-daughter, Charity Boyd.&nbsp;</p> <p>He is survived by wife of 38 years, Patricia &ldquo;Pat&rdquo; Luke; siblings, Rose (Hank) Lowden, Martha (Ivan) Powell, and Michael Billingsly; children, Joyce Luke, Cindy (Tony) Cusumano, and Mitchell (Claudia) Luke; step-children, Tim Collins, and Lisa (Bob) Clark; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.&nbsp;</p> <p>The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.</p> <p>Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Luke family and invites you to view and sign the online registry.&nbsp;</p>

Walter “Wally” Earl Luke, age 78 of Anderson, IN passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021.

Walter enlisted in the Navy after completing grade 10, where he earned his high-school equivalency. He served in the Navy from 1960-1964 as a Gunners Mate on 3 med cruises. He then went on to work as an electrician for over 30 years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local #1151.
