Juanita "Nita" W. Peterson

KANE Juanita "Nita" W. Peterson passed away early Monday (July 26) morning at her residence. She was born in Marienville on Jan 26, 1943 the daughter of the late Stanley and Rose (Grandinetti) Debevec. On June 13, 1963 in Kane, she married William Peterson, who survives. Mrs. Peterson graduated from Clarion University and had taught for many years at several area schools, including Bradford, Ludlow, James City and Kane. She had also spent time working as the activities director at the Lutheran Home at Kane. She was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church. She is survived, in addition to her husband, by two sons Tim (Sue) Peterson and Dan (Melissa) Peterson, both of Kane; five granddaughters, Megan (Aaron) Pascazi, Kelsey Peterson, Ally Peterson, Emily Peterson and Anna Peterson; one grandson Derek Peterson; one sister Becky Debevec of Umatilla, FL; a sister-in-law, Judy (Greg) Phillips of Cherry Grove Beach, SC, several nieces and nephews and many special friends and wonderful caregivers. She was preceded in death by her parents. A private family service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow in St. Callistus Cemetery. The Cummings Funeral Home is in charge of services. Memorial donations may be made to the McKean County SPCA 80 Glenwood Ave., Bradford, PA 16701 or the Kane Volunteer Fire Department.
