Phyllis Volk

Phyllis Volk passed away July 20, 2021 at the age of 92. She was born October 24, 1928 to Stanislaus and Agatha (Wangler) Wald in Napoleon, North Dakota. On June 16, 1948, she married Henry Volk in Napoleon, North Dakota. They worked the family farm until 1950 when they moved to Portland, Oregon. In 1975, they moved to Canby, Oregon. She retired in 1990 after working 30 years as a seamstress and other jobs. Phyllis was a part of the Canby community and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for 45 years. She enjoyed reading, music, dancing and travel. Phyllis is survived by her; daughter, Henrietta Orr of Canby; sons, Garry of West Linn and Stan of Gresham; brother, Victor Wald, of Napoleon, North Dakota; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Her sisters Elizabeth (Betty) Fettig and Ann Ballard Preceded her in death. There will be a public viewing for last respects on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Canby Funeral Chapel between 3 and 8 PM. (Located at 160 S. Grant St., Canby, OR 97013). There will be a Funeral Mass for Phyllis on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church (498 NW 9th in Canby, OR 97013). Officiating will be Fr. Arturo Romero and Fr. RIchard Sirianni. Luncheon will be served following the Mass at Parish Hall. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery at 99E and New Era following the Mass and Luncheon. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Canby Funeral Chapel.
