Paula Leah Lawson

Paula Leah (Sossen) Lawson, 49, of Middletown, beloved wife of Richard A. Lawson, Jr. passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 21st at her home. Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of Harold S. Sossen of Marblehead, MA and Rhea (Kovar) Sossen of Belmont, MA. Paula has lived in Middletown since 1996, was employed at Wesleyan University as the Associate Provost, was a member of Congregational Adath Israel Synagogue in Middletown where she was on the Board of Directors and served as Secretary of the Board. Paula was a very devoted woman, spending her time with family, work and involvement in the synagogue. Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by her son, Jack Lawson of Middletown; a brother, David Sossen of Sherborn, MA; and her twin sister, Nina Sossen of Pelham, MA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 24th at 1:00 pm at Congregational Adath Israel Synagogue, 48 Old Church Street, Middletown and interment will follow in Adath Israel Cemetery, Pine Street, Middletown. There will be no calling hours and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paula's memory to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450.
