Carolyn C. Sulkowski

Age 93, of Peters Township, formerly of Pittsburgh, peacefully passed away on Saturday July 24, 2021 with her daughters by her side. Beloved wife of the late Eugene L. Sulkowski; loving mother of Toni J. Sulkowski and Carol (Marty) DeBerardinis; proud grandmother of Katelyn DeBerardinis (Jeremey Harris), Anna (Jesse) Pedroni, and Martin DeBerardinis; caring sister of the late Dr. Michael Mitchell, Kathryn Mitchell, and JoAnn Chacona; treasured daughter of the late Peter and Antoinette Chronis. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Carolyn was a graduate of Taylor Allderdice High School and worked for her parents’ Floral Shop in Oakland. She then went on and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Physical Education with a Minor in Biology. Carolyn was a physical education teacher in Warren, PA and then a substitute teacher in Peters Township for many years. She was a very passionate floral gardener, who won awards in the township including the Calla Lily Award. She was a member of Giant Oaks and the Lexington Court Gardening Clubs. Carolyn was a past member of Peters Creek Presbyterian serving in the Stephens Ministry and Center Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the Women’s Association and also served as an Elder. She is currently a member of John McMillan Presbyterian Church. Carolyn was an avid reader, who volunteered for many years at the Peters Township Library. She also enjoyed crafting, such as sewing, needle point, cross stitch, scrap booking and charcoal drawing. Carolyn will be remembered for being a faithful volunteer in the schools and churches, a beautiful gardener, a prayer warrior, a mother to all, and most of all for her love of family, friends and neighbors.
