<p>Bobby Rich, 89, of Walterboro, South Carolina, passed away on Friday evening, July 23, 2021, at home surrounded by family.</p> <p>Bobby was born in Whiteville, North Carolina on April 24, 1932. He joined the Navy in November 1951 and served as a Gunner’s Mate on the USS Mount McKinley. He received 4 service medals, participated in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1959.</p> <p>Bobby was married to Peggy Lahr and had 4 children: David, Donald, Thomas and Bobbie. Bobby worked his entire life for his family. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed his family immensely and was a constant for great story telling and life lessons.</p> <p>Bobby is survived by his partner, Peggy Lahr; sister, Jean Fowler; children, Donald Rich, Thomas Rich and Bobbie Urick; grandchildren, D.J. Rich, Bobby Rich, Noelle Goins, Montgomery Rich, Andrew Urick, Jessica Urick, Nicole Ponder; and several great grandkids, friends and family. Bobby was preceded in death by his son, David Rich.</p> <p>Flowers will be accepted and may be sent to the family at the funeral home. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughtful condolences and remembrance of their great patriarch. </p> <p>Graveside funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Wednesday afternoon, July 28, 2021 at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.
