James D. Knorr Obituary

James D. Knorr, better known as Uncle Jimmy, Jimbo, and The Fast Man. Age 68, of Upper St. Clair, originally of Whitehall, passed away peacefully Friday, July 23, 2021. Jimmy was the beloved husband to his loving wife Cindee; dear son of the late Edward and Edna Mae Knorr; caring brother of Betsy (Wayne) Takacs, Lynn (Dave) Vietmeier, John Knorr, twin sister Mary Dee (Rege) Walsh, Maureen (Mike) Bidaman, and the late Edward (Linda) Knorr; treasured uncle of Jimmy (MaryJo) Takacs, Nancy (Heff) Heffernan, Kathy (Keith) Davidson, MaryBeth (Brian) Takacs, Kerry (Chris) Mindach, Kelly Spadoni, David (Kathy) Vietmeier, Sean (Chantal) Vietmeier, Eddie (Kendra) Knorr, Danny Knorr, Amy Knorr, Missy (Geoff) Owen, Patrick (Kelly) Walsh, Katie (Rob) Wolford, John (Cait) Walsh, Kristy (Bill) Cory, Shannon (Kevin) Walsh, Brynn (Maz) Fallah, and Max Kubiak; brother-in-law of Ted (Billye) Kubiak and Lydia (Mark) McPherson. Jimmy is also survived by numerous great nieces and great nephews. Even though Jimmy was raised with many dog breeds, when he met Cindee he became a cat person. They had at least 15 cats during their marriage. Jimmy is survived by his furbabies Tinkerbell “Tinker,” Annie, and Snowball. Jimmy was an owner of K-7 Parking Company, which he ran with his brother and one of his best friends, Ed. The two took over the business from their father who started the company in 1948 and grew it to a highly respected and successful valet company in Pittsburgh. He was an avid golfer; achieving an astounding TWO holes-in-one—the first at Indian Lake Country Club and the second at Nemacolin. He was a member of Valley Brook Country Club, Oakmont Country Club (Board of Directors and Chairman of the Grounds Committee), Nemacolin, and Indian Lake Country Club, Somerset, where he hosted The Fast Man Open, as well as won more than 10 golf championships. Jimmy also served on the board for the Pittsburgh Youth Golf Foundation. He was a huge Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Pirates and Steelers. He also loved Notre Dame Football. Jimmy was full of life. He lived life on his own terms and to the fullest. He was everybody’s buddy, and enjoyed a good Irish whiskey occasionally. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
