Joseph Kenneth Samson Obituary

SAMSON, Joseph Kenneth 69 - Arichat

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Samson of Arichat, formerly of Little Anse, that occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on July 22, 2021.

Born March 22, 1952 in Little Anse, he was the son of the late Bernard and Loretta (Boudreau) Samson.

Kenneth was a mechanic, jack-of-all-trades, and could fix anything he put his mind to. He loved to fish, and especially enjoyed his swordfishing expeditions; also his hunting trips in Bass River where he enjoyed being spoiled with meat pies and date squares. Kenneth also spent time working hard, and also doing a lot of laughing, on a local mussel farm. Kenneth loved country music, dancing (especially the jive), the CITU French radio station, and his treasured cats “Sassy” and “Lucky”! Kenneth adored his partner and best friend Barb of 8 years, whom he lived with for the past couple of years, until his passing. (Thank you, Barb!).

Kenneth is survived by his companion and best friend, Barbara Boudreau, Arichat; brother, Venard “Pigou” (Linda), Petit de Grat; sisters, Lorna Landry, Petit de Grat, Dora Samson-Boudreau, West Arichat; brothers-in-law, Vernie Boudreau, Petit de Grat, Gerry Samson (Karen), Halifax, Herman Samson (Aline), Little Anse, Bradley Samson (Shirley), Louisdale; sisters-in-law, Aline Samson, Boudreauville, Angela Samson, Halifax, and many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his special buddies, Clyde Hynes and Butch Mac Adam.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Deborah; brother, Robbie; brothers-in-law, Wilbert Landry, Albert Samson, his Godparents, and nieces, Stacey and Paula Landry.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation.

A graveside service will be held in the Star of the Sea Cemetery in Petit de Grat on Saturday, July 31st at 11am. Reception to follow at Dora’s residence in West Arichat.

Memorial donations may be made to the Strait Richmond Hospital Dialysis Unit.
