Ronald G. Hence

Ronald G. Hence, 85, of Manlius, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at home surrounded by family. Born April 26, 1936, he was the son of the late George and Nettie Hence. He worked as a printer for Manlius Publishing for 15 years. Then in 1978 he opened R.G. Hence & Sons, Inc. in Fayetteville and worked for 31 years doing automotive repair and towing before retiring in 2009. When not working, Ronald enjoyed golf, bowling, visiting casinos and playing cards with his friends. He coached Fayetteville Little League for many years and especially enjoyed traveling with his wife. He was predeceased by his son, Ronald George Hence Jr.; his parents, George Hence and Netti Hence Jock; sisters, Lela, Frances, Gladys, and Mary; brothers, Earl and George; and son-in-law, Frederick Dennee. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Beverly Quick Hence; daughters, Cheryl (Randy) Crayton and Pamela Dennee; sons, David (Julie) Hence, Richard (Cathy) Hence, Michael (Edie) Hence, Gary (Heather) Hence, James Hence, and Jason (Carrie) Hence; as well as 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held from 4-8 pm on Thursday, July 29th at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 30th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fayetteville Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
