James Earl Dye, Sr., age 84, of Cedar Bluff, VA passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at his home. He was born in Swords Creek, VA on January 23, 1937 and was the son of the late Walter and Lola Vance Dye. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He loved hunting, fishing, working on cars, carpentry and woodworking. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Richardson Dye; three brothers Cletus Dye, Dexter Dye and Robert Dye; two sisters Frances Breedlove and Debbie Brown. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Rhonda Beavers, James Dye and wife Becky, and Peggy Dye and special friend, Tony Lowe; brother, Chester Dye of Ohio; sisters, Mary Ann Tuggle of Ohio, and Linda Sisk of Bandy, VA; 6 grandchildren, Clara Damron and husband Josh, Elizabeth White and husband Derek, Emily Dye, C.J. Beavers and wife Samira, Nicholas Dye, and Chandler Perkins and special friend, Alexis Keen; 3 great-grandchildren, Carson Beavers, Madilyn Damron, and Jaxson Damron; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends after 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 26th at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Danny Houchins officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be CJ Beavers, Nicholas Dye, Chandler Perkins, Josh Damron, Derek White, and Tony Lowe.
