Dr. Deena S. Lalwani, wife of Steven Lalwani, went to her heavenly abode on July 22, 2021. She was mother of Samantha (Sumita) Dougherty and husband, Dr. Jim Dougherty of Jamesville and Vanita Lalwani of DeWitt; grandmother, fondly known as “Nani”, to Maya and Ryan Clewis and James, Evan and Matthew Dougherty. She was born in undivided India, the daughter of the late Harkishendas and Rajni Chandy. She grew up in Mumbai and received her MD from Bombay University, India and did her residency training in Psychiatry at Lafayette Clinic, Michigan. She was a psychiatrist at Essex County Hospital in Cedar Grove, NJ for 23 years. She was a graceful, elegant and noble soul and was very passionate about charity work and caring for her family. She will be remembered as a humble, soft spoken & poised woman. Deena will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
