Betty June Brown

<p>Candler &ndash; Betty June &ldquo;Mamaw&rdquo; Singleton Brown, 87, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home.</p> <p>June was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Charlie and Annie Mae Taylor Singleton.&nbsp; In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Brown; a daughter, Terrie Lynn Willis; three sisters, Edna Trull, Mary Lou Vaincourt, and Martha Jean Watts; and three brothers, Carroll, Robert, and Charlie Singleton.&nbsp; June worked as a healthcare provider for several healthcare centers including Windwood Healthcare where she worked for 15 years.</p> <p>She is survived by four sons, Charles Barrett of Texas, Michael Barrett (Beverly) of Candler, Edward Barrett (Edna) of Candler, and Houston Sullivan of Asheville.&nbsp; June was a &ldquo;Mamaw&rdquo; to everyone including several generations of her family of grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren: and numerous nieces and nephews.</p> <p>A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Marc&nbsp;Penley and Reverend Willard Pruitt officiating.&nbsp; The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice Patient Care Fund, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC&nbsp; 28731.</p> <p>The care of Mrs. Brown has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Canton and an online memorial register is available at &ldquo;Obituaries&rdquo; at www.wellsfuneralhome.com</p>
