Gary L. Niswonger

GARY LEE NISWONGER, age 77, of Piqua, OH went home to be with His Lord at 2:18 PM on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Ayden Healthcare in Piqua, OH. Gary was born in Piqua, OH on March 6, 1944 to the late Marvin and Elizabeth (Lane) Niswonger. He married Marcia A. (Francis) Niswonger in Troy, OH on May 18, 1968 and she survives. Gary is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Sarah and Adam Strouse, Ansonia, OH; four sons and daughters-in-law: Christopher and Laura Niswonger, Sidney, OH; Todd and Autumn Niswonger, Tipp City, OH; Mark and Amanda Niswonger, Universe City, TX; and Matthew Niswonger, Hillsboro, OR; one brother and sister-in-law: Bruce and Diane Niswonger, Troy, OH; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother: Norman Niswonger. Gary graduated from Piqua High School in 1961 and was a Production Director at Troy Daily News for 36 years. He was also a member of Piqua St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church. Gary really loved his church family and going to bible study. He was a master of just about anything, and he enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church, 500 N. Downing St, Piqua, 45356 with Dr. Keith Gebhart officiating. Burial will follow at Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, OH. The family will receive friends 10 AM -12 PM at the church.
