Ronald “Ron” Rex Mead of Miami, OK passed from this life Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Integris Miami Hospital in Miami, OK. He was 74. Ron was born February 7, 1947 in Miami, OK to Leon Burl and Melba Fern (Dillard) Mead. Ron had lived in Miami all his life and graduated from Miami High School Class of 1965. He was a member of the Chickasaw Nation. He had worked for Trussler Sheet Metal Heating and Air from 1965 to 1983 and then owned and operated Meadco Services in Miami, OK for 25 years. He owned and operated Mainstream Sports and Shooters Sports Bar in Miami, OK and was a technician for AGS. Ron was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Miami, OK and was a bass player and lead vocalist in Bad Knees Band. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Ron is survived by his wife Laura Sue (Seamon) Mead of the home, 1 son, Myk Mead and wife Amy of Oklahoma City, OK, 1 daughter, Shelly Mead-Gaught and husband Robert of Miami, OK, his mother, Melba Mead of Miami, OK, 1 brother ,DeWayne Mead and wife Karen of Miami, OK and 1 grandson Dalton Mead. Private Family Inurnment will take place at a later date. Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
