Harold Phillip Dubensky Obituary

Harold Philip Dubensky, 88, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Mulberry Square Eldercare.

He was born in Delancey on August 07, 1932, a son of the late Peter Dubensky and Ann (Kostichok) Dubensky.

Mr. Dubensky was a United States Army Veteran that served his country during the Korean Conflict.

He was a faithful member of Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.

In 1957, he married the former Germaine “Gerri” Boschini.  She preceded him in death in 2012.

Harold worked as a machinist at Star Iron for many years prior to his retirement.

Harold was a long-time member of the Punxsutawney Country Club. He loved to golf and never missed a tee time.  He enjoyed the companionship of his fellow golfers, being outside and a challenge of a good game.  In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball and baseball. 

He was a member of the Punxsutawney Eagles, and the Walston Club.

He is survived by four children, Louis Dubensky and wife Becky of Punxsutawney, Beatrice Ishman and husband Chuck of Punxsutawney, Harold Dubensky, Jr. and wife Tracy of Lancaster, and William Dubensky of Bridgeport, West Virginia; eight grandchildren, Jamie Hutchins and husband Brian, Eric Ishman and wife Lisa, Holly Archer, Dustin Dubensky and wife Shannon, Morgan Nelson and husband Scott, Andrea Dubensky, Angela Dubensky, Ethan Mundorf; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Dubensky of Zelienople, and Desi Dubensky and wife Joann of Sharpsville; sister in-law, Sandra Dubensky; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Peter “Lefty” Dubensky, Michael Dubensky and infant John Dubensky; two sisters, Marie Kopas, and infant Mary Magdeline Dubensky.

Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2021 at Saints Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, celebrated by Father Vasyl Kadar.

Interment will follow at Saints Peter & Paul Byzantine Cemetery.
