Emily Jean Moir Flesherton, Ontario Obituary

Emily Jean Moir

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Emily (Jean) Moir, our loving and devoted mother, on July 18, 2021. She left us peacefully in Markdale in her 91st year after a very long battle with Alzheimers. She had lived in Wallaceburg, most of her life. Jean was born on December 5, 1929 in Raleigh Township to William and Grace Ferguson (nee Moore). Loving mother of Patty (Bruce), Marlene (Malcolm), Lynn and Paul. Grandmother to Kari (Brian), Kristan (Jason), Meghan, Hilary (Scott), Keegan, Chris, Tim (Riya), Brian (Nicole) and Amy (Jeff) and great grandmother to Isabelle, Cole & Rowan, Audrey & Alex, Landen & Lyla, Kolby & Spencer, Mason, Hannah & Emmet, Charles and Anika. Kind sister and sister-in-law to Peter Ferguson, Ruth Ball and Joan Hitchcock. Predeceased by siblings Bill, Jimmy and May Ferguson. Sisters and Brothers in law, Jack & Kay (Moir), Marg McLachlan, Glen McLachlan, Judy McPhail, David Moir, Evelyn Ferguson, Florence Ferguson and Lyle Ball. Jean was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Choir, and Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Jean did not have the best childhood but she had the love of a devoted Aunt (Ella McCoig), who raised her from the age of 8. She was blessed with her kind brother Peter and her amazing sister Ruth. She lived her life with love and grace. Every visit was ended with a kiss and “I love you”. She will be remembered for her kindness, faith and resilience. Forever in our hearts. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada. A Celebration of Life will be held in September.
