James "Jim" Earnest Reed

James "Jim" Earnest Reed, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Jim was born on January 28, 1951, in Portland, Oregon. He was raised by his grandmother Ollie and mother Donna in Norway, Iowa until 1968 when he moved to Winston-Salem, NC. Jim was a 1970 graduate of Reynolda High School. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Jim worked for Brenner Steel and retired from Superior Manufacturing after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Reed and wife, Peggy Brady Reed; and daughter, Dawn Denise Francisco. Jim is survived by his brother, David Reed; son-in-law, James Francisco; granddaughter, Jasmine Reed; nieces, Jennifer and Melissa and great-nephew, Bennett. James was an outstanding brother, father, grandfather, and son-in-law and will greatly be missed. Open visitation will begin at 1 pm and a Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Poplar Springs Church of Christ in King, North Carolina.
