Marilyn Strother

<p>Marilyn Strother (nee Keiffer), 89, passed away July 21, 2021. Marilyn was born May 6, 1932 in Bluffton, Ohio.<br /> She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond J. and Anna B. Keiffer. Also, her husband, Dean M. Strother of fifty-two years of marriage.<br /> She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth A. Thompson of West Chicago, IL and son, John M. Strother of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; two granddaughters, Moriah N. Thompson of Wheaton, IL and Roxanne N. Threlfall of Minneapolis, MN; and one great-granddaughter, Adele Lucia Thompson of Chicago; and two grandsons, Jesse J. Strother (Candy) of Cuyahoga Falls and Peter D. Thompson (Hannah) of Chicago.<br /> Marilyn was a 1954 Winter Quarter graduate of Kent State University with a B. S. in Kindergarten Primary Education. She taught in Annapolis, MD., Akron, OH., Los Angeles, CA., Glendale, CA., and Ventura, CA. She was a member of The Chapel on Fir Hill in Akron.<br /> In her earlier years she did a lot of singing in church choirs and privately. In high school, among other school choirs, she sang two years in the A Capella choir under Josephine Long.<br /> One of her passions besides singing was knitting. Many thanks to her knitting instructor, Coletta Pilato of Harps and Thistles.
