Howard Perry Jr. Obituary

Perry, Jr., Howard B.

December 21, 1953 - July 21, 2021

Howard spent his whole life on the same road where he grew up in Vassar, Michigan.  His family, friends and neighbors hold memories of his good deeds and well-told stories.  He always helped those around him in need - whether it was offering a bit of encouragement or help plowing their driveway.  People loved to spend time with him, to hear a good story or share a laugh.

A graduate of Vassar High School, Howard retired from Nash Finch, Co. after over 30 years of service, where he had earned the nickname “King of the One-Liners” due to his quick wit.

He was a wise yet young-spirited man who spent his time making creative inventions, unique works of art and working on projects with his friends.  He was a farmer and a mechanic who had a wealth of knowledge that cannot be replaced.  His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Dawn Perry, who he enjoyed 11 years of marriage with; daughters Rachael (Joshua) Rosas and Lisa (Michael) Schultz-Sewell and stepson Matthew (Jenny) Campbell; granddaughters Mia Schultz and Quinn Sewell; sisters Dolores (Raymond) Kennard and Mary Lou (Bill) Levis and brother Randy (Lori) Perry, sister-in-law Pat O’Dell as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were like family.

Welcoming him to heaven were his parents, Howard and Amelia Perry, sisters and brother-in-laws, Donna (Jim) Wilson and Ruth Ann (Ralph) Whaley, father-in-law Bob O’Dell and brother-in-law Bob O’Dell.

Private services will take place at a later date.
