Dennis Deral Reed

<p>Dennis D. Reed 70, an Army veteran and retired truck driver went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on July 20, 2021 at his home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.</p> <p>Dennis was born November 14, 1950 in Blair, Oklahoma to Surles B. Reed and Beverta L. (Parker) Reed.&nbsp; He graduated high school in Byng, Oklahoma and went into the Army as a track vehicle and auto mechanic.&nbsp; He served in the 1st Battalion 73rd Armor Division.&nbsp; Dennis received an honorable discharge on May 2, 1973, but not before being stationed in Korea near the demilitarized zone and earning the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), Expert (rifle), and a Good Conduct Medal.&nbsp; He then went on to drive over-the-road trucking seeing many sights and taking pictures through his cab window.&nbsp; He worked faithfully for C &amp; H Trucking and then DA Lubricant until his retirement.</p> <p>Dennis is survived by his wife of 22 years, Denise J. (Massey) Reed; his son, Paxton D. Reed and wife Kristie, daughter, Keisha D. Finley and husband, Jeff, stepdaughter, Megan A. Toro, stepsons, Michael R. Massey, Brandon K. Massey and wife, Shannon, Caleb S. Massey and wife Lisa.&nbsp; Along with grandchildren, Julia Reed, Sarah Reed, Piper Finley, Tate Finley, Diego Toro Alex Toro, Caden Massey, Matthew Massey, Tyler Massey, Landon Massey, Gracey Massey and Jayce Massey.&nbsp; He is also survived by his sisters, Karren Bray, Roseann Whipple, Patsy Begley and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.&nbsp;</p> <p>He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bobby D. Reed, Garland D. Reed, Waylong D. Reed, K. Doyle Reed, and sister, C. Jan Tallarita.</p> <p>Dennis was a devout Christian and served his church and its congregation with many duties.&nbsp; He looked forward to his annual elk hunt in Colorado, enjoyed fishing, hunting other game, boating, 4 wheeling, playing the guitar in his younger days and his grandchildren.&nbsp; He was not afraid of death and looked forward to being with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.</p> <p>Services are under the direction of smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.&nbsp; The service is scheduled for 11:00 am At Smith Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services following at South Heights Cemetery.&nbsp; Reverend Larry Bishop will officiate.</p>
