Rosann F. Sharon

Rosann Viel Sharon, 68, of Dayton, Kentucky, passed away suddenly on July 18, 2021. Rosann was a highly respected and admired mathematics teacher at Dayton High School for 32 years and was awarded a Golden Apple Award for her work and dedication to the profession. While at Dayton, Rosann coached the Academic and the Odyssey of the Mind teams, served as the Yearbook, Junior and Senior class sponsor and worked almost every athletic event. Upon her retirement in 2008, Rosann continued to serve the students of Dayton Schools as a full time volunteer while also serving as the Chairwoman of the Dayton Independent School Board. In 2016, Rosann had the high distinction of being named a "Woman of the Year" by the Cincinnati Enquirer. Rosann was also a lifetime member and choir member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Ft. Thomas. Rosann was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth & Joseph Viel, her husband Timothy Sharon, her sister Susan Viel and her uncle Will Hindmarch. She is survived by her "adopted family", Leland and Shawnda Tucker; her adoring "grandchildren", Leana and Adriana; her best friend, Diane Huff; the families of Dan & Glenda Reynolds and Dave & Natalie Powell, along with her "school family", her "church family", students, cousins and many, many friends. Visitation will be Friday, July 23rd at the Dayton High School Gymnasium, 200 Greendevil Lane, Dayton, KY, from 5-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul Church, 1 Churchill Drive; Ft. Thomas, Saturday, July 24th at 10:00 am with the burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in Rosann's name to the Dayton Independent School District, 200 Clay Street, Dayton, KY 41074.
